From As A Man Thinketh

"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes, And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes The tool of Thought, and , shaping what he wills, Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:- He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: Environment is but his looking-glass."

Please Join With Us: Restoring Morality and Religious Freedom

I'm linking to an article I read in this month's church magazine.

Restoring Morality & Religious Freedom

Some excerpts:

"Religious freedom all over the world is also under attack...We must work together to both protect religious freedom and restore morality."

"Many U.S. founding fathers, including George Washington and James Madison, pointed out that shared moral values espoused by different religions with competing doctrines allow societies to be bound together."

"Presidents of the Church, including President Thomas S. Monson, have made it clear that all religions hold truths and that we should work together for the common good.  In his inaugural press conference, President Monson emphasized this cooperation.  He states, 'We have a responsibility to be active in the communities where we live...and to work cooperatively with other churches...It's important that we eliminate the weakness of one standing alone and substitute for it the strength of people working together.'"

I hope those of other faiths with many of the same moral values can see the wisdom in this article and focus on the values we share to help strengthen our families, communities, and hopefully our nation rather then let our doctorinal differences divide us to the point of allowing those with no moral values conquer us.
